Schools are genuinely at the heart of LINGONAIZER. As the project is, at its very core, addressing especially pupils in secondary education, schools inform nothing less than a “conditio sine qua non” for this innovation journey to happen and to succeed. Have a look below for some features of an “ideal” partner school profile, as well as for the main tasks and activities foreseen for LINGONAIZER-partner schools.
School Partner Profile
* School of general secondary education, preferably lower (ISCED 2) level or, alternatively, both lower and upper (ISCED 3) levels.
* Interest in following & fostering pupils’ language (learning) awareness and (especially academic) language sensitivity with the help of a novel mobile application
* Interest in supporting corresponding policy-making and development initiatives through new empirical evidence on the use of AI in (language) education
* Possibility to implement currently available tools of digital language (learning) profiling (desktop/laptop/tablet) and LINGONAIZER-prototypes (mobile/tablet) in selected classes for feedback and evaluation purposes (3-4 times a year)
* Ideally knowledge of (national/regional/local) curriculum design and interest in cooperation with educational authorities (policy-making / implementation / development)
SETTING UP your LINGONAIZER-team
* Ideally 2-3 teachers representing
a) 1-2 languages (e.g. main national/school language plus one additional language) and
b) one or more non-linguistic subject(s) (of your choice / particular relevance for your context)
* Director / headmaster of your school as legal representative of your institution in the project and as (one of) the spokesperson(s) towards educational authorities / corresponding policy instances
* …and at the heart of it all, of course, your pupils (2-3 classes of your choice).
MAIN TASKS & ACTIVITIES
PROJECT PHASE I:
* Implementation of already available digital tools for language (learning) profiling in 2-3 classes of your choice (e.g. class levels 7-9) for acquaintance, feedback & evaluation purposes
PROJECT PHASE II:
* Continuous implementation of and feedback on the LINGONAIZER application ideally in the same / similar setting as above
PROJECT PHASE III:
* Organization and coordination of a regional / national event for purposes of project documentation through an external video-team, incl. preparation of documentation / interview settings and organization of a press conference / panel discussion
…AND THROUGHOUT THE JOURNEY:
* Participation in project meetings and events (both online and in presence)
* General school-level reporting tasks as agreed with the coordinating body
